Summer Positions with Cycle Canada 2024
Candidates must have a clean valid Canadian drivers licence and exprience driving in Canada. The ability to drive a van or pickup or van or pickup and 16ft trailer, and the right to work in Canada is a requirement of all positions. Please read the job descriptions below. Cycle Canada, The Veloforce Corporation is a Canadian company that has been conducting cycling tours throughout Canada since 1988. Our business is unique and is expanding every year.
Each year, during the summer months, we employ focussed, active people to assist us with our tours. In 2024 we require 1 independant employee to support the cross Canada bicycle tour Tour du Canada. The contract work term is May 18 to September 6, 2024. This is a contract salaried positions and includes a paid training and preparation period, room and board for the summer.

Working for Cycle Canada means you will be travelling all summer and you will be away from your home turf. Room and board is covered. For this position it's mostly camping where meals are prepared.

Paid training and preparation period
Work begins in Ontario in mid to late May supporting a weekend cycling rally. There is a 3 week training and preparation period which is included in the paid term. The employee will then drive or travel to the start of the tour(s) and drive the vehicle from point to point on each daily stop. Work involves transporting luggage, company equipment.
Requirements of Candidates
The successful candidate will be required to provide reports on their driving and insurance record and three references. The position is open to Canadian citizens or residents with valid work visas.
Knowledge of a second language, particularly a comfort level with the French language, is helpful.
We look for mature independent individuals to work for us. Since our positions require a variety of skills, in reviewing resumes we consider all work experience, volunteer activities, clubs and sports
Do you Have the following qualifications?
- Class G (or equivalent for other provinces) driver's licence.
- Are you insurable - shortlisted candidates will be required to provide a three year history of any claims as well as a driver's abstract.
- Excellent driving and navigation skills.
- Experience driving a cube van, or van and trailer or similar large vehicle
- Enjoy outdoor living (accommodation for one position is mostly camping)
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills
- There is lifting and other physical effort involved.
- Diligent record keeping and reporting skills.
- All positions involve some food handling and food purchasing skills.
- A desire to see and travel throughout Canada
Positions
Tour Lead
- Excellent driving and navigation skills.
- Experience driving a pickup truck with trailer.
- Food purchasing and inventory management for group of up to 20 cyclists travelling across Canada.
- Accommodation is at head office and campgrounds.
