1000 Islands Gateway Get-Away
1000 Islands is a 3-day bicycle tour with 2 nights indoors at Gananoque, the central town on the Canadian side of this freshwater archipelago in the St. Lawrence River. The name for the town has indigenous roots and the etymology we like is "Garden of the Great Spirit". It captures the scenery and the local culture.
Travel quiet rural roads and paths in this historic vacation district. The region includes the Frontenac Arch Biosphere. Biospheres are designated by the UNESCO as "learning places for sustainable development". You travel alongside the St. Lawrence River and through rural landscapes.
